Experience
I have over 4 years of experience tutoring in Math, Science, and English to all grades from Pre-k to 9th at my Community Center. This position was voluntary and unpaid. More specifically, I have spent most of my time tutoring 6th-9th grade students and enjoy working with them better as well; although, I do not mind the younger students. I was at one point also in charge of the Community Center Tutoring program, but since then have moved to Woodland and would like to take up tutoring here. I feel that I have had sufficient experience in dealing with students of all changes and have the patience to explain concepts over and over again as needed. I also understand that each child is different and learns in different ways; thus, sometimes multiple approaches are necessary in order to get a point a across. I have the patience and the ability to do this. Besides the tutoring, I have also taught night school at the Community Center for 5 years which adds to my ability to work with students and create an affinity with them. I do also believe that rapport is crucial and I find myself to be relatable, sociable, and understanding. My demanding schedule throughout my years has conditioned me to be on time, reliable, and responsible. I also enjoy tutoring and do not feel like this would be just another "job" to attend. I really do feel the need to make a difference and this is my way of accomplishing that; therefore, I intend to give every ounce I have.
